Payment options
There are a variety of ways to make a rent payment.
Upon receiving an accommodation offer, during the acceptance process, applicants will select a preferred payment frequency.
There are three rent payment frequencies: Monthly, Termly or Pay in Full There are three payment options - Recurring Card Payment, Bank Transfer, Online Card Payment.

Ways to Pay
Pay rent by direct card payment
If you select ‘Pay Later' by direct card payment’ then you will need to visit our to make each rent payment.
Payment can be made via our online payment system, please select Pay Online followed by Pay an Outstanding Invoice on our How to Pay webpage.
If you haven't used this before you should follow the guidance to Register as a new user, your username will be your student registration number and you can set the password.
Pay rent by bank transfer
To pay your rent by bank transfer, please refer to the bank transfer instructions on our How to Pay webpage. You will need to make a separate bank transfer for each rent payment.
Monthly Recurring Card Payment (RCP)
Payment of accommodation fees can be made in instalments using a credit/debit card. This is known as a Recurring Card Payment - commonly referred to as an RCP Plan. During the induction, you will get a chance to select this.
RCP - Amendment or Cancellation
It's imperative you contact Finance immediately of a change in your Occupancy Agreement which requires your RCP plan to be amended or cancelled completely.
Please note if you cancel your RCP any outstanding balance which is due at this time must be paid in full. If your fees alter or your card details change during the year then you must contact Finance at fee-invoicing@strath.ac.uk, they will amend your RCP Plan. If you make a manual payment in advance of the due date then you must contact Finance to prevent a duplicate payment from being collected.
RCP - Changing Your Card Details
You'll need to change your card details if:
- your card is lost or stolen
- your card expires
- your card provider changes supplier (eg. from Visa to Mastercard)
- you change your bank account
If you wish to amend your card details then you can do this on our online payment page by selecting the option ‘Amending card details on active RCP plan’.
Bank or Card Provider Charges
The University will not be liable for any charges incurred as a result of any overdraft or credit card charges applied to the payer’s account.
