Bereavement Research and Innovation Group

The Bereavement Research and Innovation Group (BRIG) is a multi-disciplinary collaboration of researchers at the University of Strathclyde who conduct research into bereavement. Using our combined experience and expertise, our aim is to develop new knowledge around bereavement with a focus on improving bereavement experiences.

We are committed to advancing the bereavement research, teaching, policy and practice landscape and working together to develop innovation in bereavement research methods and design.

  • Comic aims to help young people deal with grief

    A comic aimed at helping young people deal with grief and bereavement has been produced in a Scottish Universities Insight Institute funded project involving BRIG members Susan, Sally and Nina and colleagues at the University of Dundee.

  • Funding from the Scottish Universities Institute

    BRIG and colleagues from Dundee University successfully applied for funding from the Scottish Universities Institute to create comics out from the bereavement stories of children and young people.  The project ‘Developing confident life stories about child  bereavement: normalising and supporting bereavement experiences through storytelling and comics’ brings together a multidisciplinary team, and directly involves young people from different backgrounds who have experienced bereavement.
