Undergraduate law studentsCecilia Chum, undergraduate law LLB, Hong Kong

Hi, I am Cecilia Chum from Hong Kong, and I’m studying LLB Honours English Law at University of Strathclyde. I spent 2 years at University of Hong Kong for my Hong Kong Law degree and a year for my placement (6 months at the High Court of Hong Kong and another 6 months at the Central Criminal Court in London – The Old Bailey) before I continued my English Law studies here in Glasgow.

The main reason I chose to study English Law is that it is very useful, we use this in Hong Kong and many other countries, such as UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia… so basically I can work anywhere after I graduate from my course! I really enjoy my course at Strathclyde, particularly my honours class, not only I can study English law, I can also take some classes in Scottish law too.

The application process was very straightforward, you just have to follow the UCAS application step-by-step and you will be fine!

I think studying at Strathclyde is one of the best decisions I have made so far; The Law School has provided a lot of career advice and work experience opportunities for us. I have an internship at a law firm located close to the city centre campus, I work here during my days off. I really enjoy my life here, I have made friends for life and Glasgow is amazing! The city has so much to see and walk around, and people here are very friendly!
