NewsUniversity welcomes delegation from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Strathclyde Business School welcomed a delegation from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) on Friday 10th November.

The delegation included the President, Professor WANG Dezhong and colleagues from SASS’s Institutes of Literature, Law, the Advanced Institute of Area Studies and the SASS Graduate School.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Strathclyde Business School have held a collaborative agreement with Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences since 2014, and the partnership to date has seen students graduate in the fields of Law and Economics.

The discussions focussed on broadening collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the fields of journalism, new media and communication, technology law and health science law and in exploring new collaborative opportunities in Research.

Associate Principal and Executive Dean, Professor Ian Rivers, in addressing the delegation said: “We warmly welcome our long standing partners from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and look forward to deepening our collaboration in future”.

Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences was founded in 1558 and is China’s oldest institution for Humanities and Social Science and the largest outside Beijing.
