Membership in a pension scheme supported by the University of Strathclyde is an excellent benefit of working for the University.
Both you and the University pay into the scheme and you benefit from it when you retire.
Pension schemes
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS)
The USS is the main national pension scheme in the Higher Education Sector. At the University of Strathclyde it is generally open to all staff on Grades 6 or above.
Members of staff should refer to their contract of employment for confirmation of eligibility.
Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
The LGPS is generally available to staff in Grades 1 to 5.
