ICDL covers seven different modules and enables candidates to prove that they have a good understanding of a wide range of computer software in the following areas:
- Module 1: Security for IT users
- Module 2: Computer Essentials/IT user fundamentals
- Module 3: Word processing
- Module 4: Spreadsheets
- Module 5: Databases
- Module 6: Presentations
- Module 7: Online essentials/Using email and the internet
There are four ICDL Advanced modules: Word, Spreadsheets, Databases and Presentations.
