Criminal & social justice What we do

We are committed to connecting our criminological work to social justice and to achieve that, we have a vibrant programme of research, knowledge exchange and continuing professional development that serves as a platform for influencing external debate and shaping criminal and social justice reform. We have sought, and won, major competitive funding from the leading UK research councils: ESRC, AHRC, MRC and Leverhulme; major UK charities including Joseph Rowntree; from organisations such as the Carnegie Trust and Robertson Trust and a range of national criminal justice stakeholders and local authorities. Across our cluster, we have received significant funding from the Scottish Government on a range of topics that intersect criminal justice, democratic dialogue and public engagement

We're involved, in various ways, in SCCJR, a world leading research centre and CYCJ, a national knowledge exchange centre.
