Personal statement

Waqquas Bukhsh is a National Grid ESO Lecturer in Advanced Optimisation and Decision-support at the Department of Electrical and Electronics engineering. His research is focused on problems at the interface of optimisation and power systems, typically involving high degrees of risk and uncertainty. He is a lead developer of OATS, which is an open-source power system simulation toolbox.


Before joining Strathclyde, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Technical University of Denmark in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and before that, he was a PG student at the University of Edinburgh. He was also a visiting lecturer at the University of Copenhagen.
