Summary

The Faculty of Engineering are delighted to be offering a combined scholarship to all postgraduate taught, self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying offer holders joining a course in January 2025.

The Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship (FEIS) award is equivalent to a 15% reduction of your fees. Further to this, to mark the conclusion of our Diamond Jubilee year, we are offering an additional Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship of £2,000 to all successful offer-holders. The Faculty of Engineering Scholarship, combined with our Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, will typically result in a final scholarship of up to £6,240.*

These scholarships will be awarded automatically and no application is necessary. Please note that the scholarship details will be added to your student record once payment of deposit has been received, and the funds will be automatically deducted from your overall fees. 

*The amount varies for selected courses with a different tuition fee, including courses within Architecture & Biomedical Engineering.

Eligibility

Important things to note:

  • The value of the Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship award is equivalent to a 15% reduction of your fees. Further to this, to mark the conclusion of our Diamond Jubilee year, we are offering an additional Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship of £2,000 to all successful offer-holders. The Faculty of Engineering Scholarship, combined with our Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, will typically result in a final scholarship of up to £6,240.
  • The amount varies for selected courses with a different fee, including courses within Architecture and Civil and Environmental Engineering and Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering.
  • The Faculty of Engineering’s International Scholarships are only open for self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying applicants enrolling on a full-time course within the University of Strathclyde’s campus in Glasgow starting January 2025 only. The scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points. 
  • These scholarships will be awarded automatically and no application is necessary. Please note that the scholarship details will be added to your student record once payment of deposit has been received, and the funds will be automatically deducted from your overall fees. 
  • Those who receive full sponsorship from a government office or embassy are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • In order to be considered for a scholarship an applicant must hold an offer to study on a full-time postgraduate taught course in January 2025.
  • Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
  • Students who do not meet any of the required criteria in this announcement will automatically not be considered.
  • The Faculty of Engineering's decision on the awarding of scholarships is final.

Dean's International Excellence Awards

Applications for the Dean’s International Excellence Award are now closed. Students who applied for this award were required to demonstrate academic excellence (usually a UK first class undergraduate degree or international equivalent), and the potential both to make a significant contribution to the Strathclyde community during their studies and in their chosen profession upon graduation (assessed by information provided in the scholarship application form). The deadline for applications for the Dean’s International Excellence Award was 22 November 2024.

Eligible applicants for postgraduate taught degrees will receive a Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship award equivalent to a 15% reduction of fees. Further to this, to mark the conclusion of our Diamond Jubilee year, we are offering an additional Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship of £2,000 to all successful offer-holders. The Faculty of Engineering Scholarship, combined with our Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, will typically result in a final scholarship of up to £6,240.*

The deadline for applications for the Dean’s International Excellence Award was 22 November 2024, and candidates will only be considered for the combined Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship (value: 15% of fees) and Strathclyde Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (value: £2,000) after this date.
