Since its inception, the Malawi Millenium Project (MMP) has sent several 40-foot containers to Malawi.
It started with the kitting out of the David Livingstone Clinic, with equipment and goods from clinics and hospitals around Scotland. The latest containers will provide:
- computers for schools
- books for The Polytechnic Library
- hospital theatre lighting
- mattresses
- library shelving
- school resources
- other necessary items
The current container was due to be shipped in May 2020. Throughout the pandemic, the MMP took possession of many more computers and other items. What was initially supposed to be a 20-foot container became a 40-foot one. Items are still being received. It's hoped they will be shipped to Malawi in the spring of 2024.
