Continuous Improvement blogFour weeks to go!

Are you interested in presenting at the Lean in Higher Education Online International Conference in 2021? If you are, there are 4 weeks remaining for you to submit your proposal. The closing date is Monday 5th July 2021.

Your proposal should support the conference theme of Collaborate, Innovate and Celebrate.

It doesn’t matter where you are on your lean journey, we want to hear from you. Share your experiences, insights and approaches that have helped the work that you do. Share the lessons that you have learned along the way and the successes that you have achieved. Motivate and inspire others to action.

We are looking for proposals on a variety of different topics and themes and also a variety of workshop styles and duration, so get your thinking caps on. Be innovative.

We especially welcome proposals that will enrich participants experience of an online/virtual conference with lots of engagement and interaction. Proposals should also have practical takeaways, increase knowledge and understanding of current or emerging trends, and help us improve how we apply continuous improvement (CI) strategies to help our institutions thrive.

We would also welcome proposals in the following areas:

  • Lean/CI in a post-covid world

How have you adapted your approach to Lean/CI during the covid pandemic? What opportunities and challenges do you see for Lean/CI in a post-covid world?

  • Lean/CI Training

Do you have a training course or programme that you are particularly proud of? Share this best practice with the global Lean HE community and help us all improve what we do.

  • Lean/CI and Sustainability

How can Lean/CI help with environmental sustainability? Have you got some thoughts you’d like to share? Have you already had success in this area? We’d love to hear from you.

  • Lean/CI Implementation Stories

No matter what stage you are at with your Lean/CI implementation, there is always a story to tell, lessons and successes to share. Why don’t you share your story?

  • Lean/CI in the Classroom

Have you used Lean/CI to improve your teaching and/or research? Or have you supported academic colleagues in this area? Come to the conference and inspire others to action.

  • Lean/CI Tools & Techniques

Whilst Lean is so much more than a set of tools and techniques, they do help us in the work that we do and our learning. Have you got a favourite tool and/or technique that you’ve used to great effect? Celebrate your success with us.

  • Use of Technology to support Lean/CI

Have you introduced new technology to support your Lean/CI activity? Don’t keep it to yourself, share your story with your peers from across the world.

These are just some suggestions for you; If you have another innovative theme or topic you’d like to present, share your idea with us.

We can’t wait to read your submissions as these will help us put together a programme that is high in quality, rich in content, diverse in subject matter, and also one that has an international flavour.

If you are thinking about submitting a proposal and would like to have an informal discussion about it, please get in touch with me at john.hogg@strath.ac.uk
