AlumniAlumni Groups & Networks

Your alumni community is global

Strathclyders around the world come together to form groups and networks to stay connected with the University and their fellow alumni. Each of these groups is led by dedicated volunteers who organise regular events, from informal social get togethers to formal dinners and gala events.

As well as providing opportunities to network and socialise with fellow alumni, many alumni groups also support fundraising, student recruitment, career development and enterprise activities.

Strathclyde Connect is the home of our global alumni groups and your space to connect with like-minded Strathclyders in your area. Visit today and find your global alumni community.

University of Strathclyde Alumni Groups

International alumni groups are volunteer-led and supported by the Alumni & Development team. Our alumni groups are an invaluable network of ambassadors, advocates and supporters that represent the University on an international scale.

Firstly, check and see if there's an active alumni group in your area.

You can engage with your local group on Strathclyde Connect by:

  • Updating your location details on your profile to stay informed about local opportunities
  • Posting in your local group’s discussion tab to share your Strathclyde story
  • Signing up and attending alumni events in your area

If your area doesn’t have an alumni group and you would like to form one please email the Alumni Relations Team (alumni-relations@strath.ac.uk), who will be able to support you through the process. To get started, we’ll let you know how many alumni live in your area and if there is a good number we can help you to recruit other volunteers and plan a launch event.

Our alumni volunteers help bring the Strathclyde community together by:

  • Helping to plan alumni meet-ups and networking events
  • Hosting in person events; welcoming guests and building connections between fellow alumni
  • Capturing event highlights through photos and videos for social media
  • Speaking at events and sharing your Strathclyde journey
  • Representing Strathclyde at events hosted by external partners, for example the British Council

The amount of time you dedicate as an alumni volunteer is entirely flexible. All you need is enthusiasm!

Volunteering to lead an alumni group will help you stay connected to Strathclyde and your global alumni community. You’ll help shape local alumni activity through organising events and fostering connections between alumni.

It's also a great opportunity to meet fellow Strathclyders, expand your social and professional network, and have fun!
