MSc Civil EngineeringLeena Albader

Leena, from Kuwait, decided to follow the optional specialist stream in Geotechnical Engineering with project management. Here she tells us about her experience at Strathclyde as a postgraduate international student.

I chose to study at Strathclyde because it has great MSc Civil Engineering courses with a wide range of classes and an opportunity to work with industry. I most enjoyed the group and individual projects on the course. These allowed us to further learn, take initiative and develop our skills.

When I graduate I would like to work in construction or design specifically, geotechnical, or structural related jobs. Our course solely related to working with industry, those projects could then be continued for the dissertation as well. We had many expert guest speakers, who were very engaging, speak to us throughout our courses.

My advice to potential students thinking about studying at Strathclyde is be prepared to take initiative. Engage with classes by reading around the topics and discussing any questions with professors – they are always excited to speak to enthusiastic students.
