Course studied: BBA Hons Business Administration with specialisation in Hospitality & Tourism Management

"I chose to study at Strathclyde because of the quality of the Business School and because of having heard how student-friendly Glasgow was.

"I really enjoyed being in a smaller class where we all got to know one another and also having the chance to choose bigger classes and build our curriculum based on what we want to specialise in."

What have been your highlights of your time at Strathclyde?

I really enjoyed meeting new people from all over the world and making lasting friendships. Being part of different societies and sports has also been a big part of my university experience; I was also a student representative, being elected as this year's Business Faculty Rep, and a committee member of a society organising employability events. I also enjoyed simpler things like walks around the city or parks and meeting up with friends, while participating in lectures and having study sessions in the library played of course a big role too!

What are you most proud of from your time as a student?

I was very excited to organise the “VIP for Sustainable Development” conference at our university and also to get shortlisted for the Queen's Commonwealth Award to attend the “One Young World” global summit for young leaders.

This year I was also accepted into the Clinton Foundation's Global Initiative CGIU for my commitment to action and leading positive change.

Lastly, I really enjoyed our university’s Enterprise pathway competition where my team and I were awarded at the finals for our entrepreneurial idea.

How do you feel Strathclyde prepares you for life after graduation?

I feel that not only do we get useful knowledge but also acquire skills like leadership and good communication, built both through our courses and from the range of opportunities available. For me, I felt it as a welcoming environment where I could push myself further out of my comfort zone.

Describe your Strathclyde experience in three words?

  • exciting
  • rewarding
  • unforgettable

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I hope to get work experience and a Master's, while working on some of my entrepreneurial ideas!

What advice would you give to a prospective student thinking of studying at Strathclyde?

I think they should definitely do it, it's a very welcoming environment, I found the University and its staff excellent and always happy to help.

The city is ideal for student life, while there's so much that you'll explore, not only in the University, but also about yourself and your strengths. I'd say bring your enthusiasm, enjoy it and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way!
