What have been your highlights of your time at Strathclyde?
I really enjoyed meeting new people from all over the world and making lasting friendships. Being part of different societies and sports has also been a big part of my university experience; I was also a student representative, being elected as this year's Business Faculty Rep, and a committee member of a society organising employability events. I also enjoyed simpler things like walks around the city or parks and meeting up with friends, while participating in lectures and having study sessions in the library played of course a big role too!
What are you most proud of from your time as a student?
I was very excited to organise the “VIP for Sustainable Development” conference at our university and also to get shortlisted for the Queen's Commonwealth Award to attend the “One Young World” global summit for young leaders.
This year I was also accepted into the Clinton Foundation's Global Initiative CGIU for my commitment to action and leading positive change.
Lastly, I really enjoyed our university’s Enterprise pathway competition where my team and I were awarded at the finals for our entrepreneurial idea.
How do you feel Strathclyde prepares you for life after graduation?
I feel that not only do we get useful knowledge but also acquire skills like leadership and good communication, built both through our courses and from the range of opportunities available. For me, I felt it as a welcoming environment where I could push myself further out of my comfort zone.
