Department partners in international conference

This is the first time that the Society of Architectural Historians has met outside North America in over 40 years.
The Department of Architecture is proud to partner with the Society of Architectural Historians, in the SAH 2017 Annual International Conference, which will be held in the Technology and Innovation Centre on George Street, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, on June 7–11, 2017. Architectural and art historians, architects, museum professionals and preservationists from around the world will convene to share their new research on the history of the built environment. The Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde will be presenting research to the international audience.
On Friday June 19th in the session on 'Trauma and Conflict', our PhD candidate Selma Harrington will present her paper on ''Pure Architecture' and Anti-Fascist Revolution: The case of the Historical Museum of Bosnia-Herzegovina'.
All who share a passion for the history of the built environment are invited to take part in the conference programme which includes; 36 paper sessions, eight roundtables, an introductory address and plenary talk, 33 architecture tours and the SAH Glasgow Seminar and more!
The Society of Architectural Historians is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes the study, interpretation, and conservation of architecture, design, landscapes, and urbanism worldwide. SAH serves a network of local, national, and international institutions and individuals who, by profession or interest, focus on the history of the built environment and its role in shaping contemporary life. SAH promotes meaningful public engagement with the history of the built environment through advocacy efforts, print and online publications, and local, national and international programmes.
