ACG presentation at the Şişecam Glass Symposium
Prof Thomason invited to speak at the 33rd Glass Symposium in Istanbul
Prof Jim Thomason presented his invited paper at the 33rd Şişecam Glass Symposium held in Istanbul, Turkey in early November 2018. In his presentation, Prof Thomason reviewed the latest results generated by the ACG on the subject of fibre-matrix interfaces in glass fibre composites. Particular focus was given to the contribution to apparent interfacial shear strength due to residual thermal stresses and, in additionally in the case of thermosets, from cure shrinkage during curing.
