The Faculty of Engineering invites you to join us for an Evening with NASA as part of this year's annual Scottish Space School programme.
This special event promises an inspiring evening of stories, insights, and behind-the-scenes experiences from former NASA astronauts and spaceflight leaders Sunita Williams, Michael Baker, and Tricia Mack.
A veteran of multiple space missions and one of the world’s most experienced astronauts, Sunita Williams returns to the Scottish Space School following her previous visit in 2018. After her widely publicised extended mission aboard the International Space Station, she will share first-hand insights into life and work in space, the challenges of long-duration missions, and the future of human exploration.
Michael Baker, a former NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy test pilot, flew four Space Shuttle missions and logged more than 965 hours in space. A long-time supporter of the Scottish Space School, he has attended the programme on several previous occasions and returns this year to share experiences from his remarkable career in human spaceflight and international space operations.
Joining the programme for the first time, Tricia Mack spent 34 years at NASA leading International Space Station spacewalk and operations programmes, supporting ISS assembly, astronaut training, and international missions in both Houston and Moscow. Her visit marks her first appearance at the Scottish Space School.
