Membership of a pension scheme supported by the University of Strathclyde is an excellent benefit of working for the University. Both you and the University pay into the scheme and you benefit from it when you retire.

The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is the main national pension scheme in the Higher Education Sector. At the University of Strathclyde it is generally open to all staff on Grades 6 or above.
Members of staff should refer to their contract of employment for confirmation of eligibility.

The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is generally available to staff in Grades 1 to 5.

The Scottish Teachers Superannuation Scheme (STSS) is available to certain staff that were located at Jordanhill College. At Strathclyde, membership is closed to new members.
