Reimagining Justice and Ethnography
5th Annual Postgraduate Law Conference
(29-30 April 2021)
This virtual conference will consist of two days of oral presentations by students and experienced researchers on April 29th and 30th, 2021. The aim is to promote dialogue between researchers and postgraduate students from a range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) sociology, anthropology, law, psychology, language and literature, geography, criminology, and criminal justice.
The vast field of socio-legal studies provides multiple lenses through which ethnography can be considered. It offers diverse theoretical and methodological approaches within a fluid interdisciplinary area. This conference aims to highlight how ethnographic approaches can shed light into the realities of legal pluralism, the contradictions in any legal system and how justice is reproduced through the cultural frames and practices of people's everyday lives.
