BBC Radio 4 documentary on RAAC in homes features Malcolm Combe
The BBC Radio 4 programme Currently recently investigated the issue of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete – or RAAC – in Scottish homes. Where this material was used in the construction process, it has a limited lifespan and the risk of collapse can effectively condemn a building, with obvious implications for the current owner or occupier. Our Malcolm Combe was interviewed during the preparation of this episode, first broadcast on 1 February 2026, and he can be heard discussing the legal problems a buyer might face when seeking to recover any loss directly from a seller (whether they bought from a local authority, or from a private seller after a previous sale by a local authority). You can listen to Currently on BBC Sounds.
