Mediation Shadowing

Scottish Cyrenians today started two student placements with their Conflict Resolution Service:http://cyrenians.scot/family-people/conflict-resolution/mediation-and-support/.  This innovative project helps tackle youth homelessness by offering mediation in families where the negative impact of arguments places a young person at risk of homelessness.  Students and alumni from the LLM/MSc in Mediation and Conflict Resolution are being offered this fantastic opportunity to shadow mediators; allowing them to witness first hand their delicate and important work from making contact with the young person through to bringing the family together in mediation.

The first two placements are Jo Harkness, current student, and Haley Weir, who has just completed the MSc and is working as Student Assistant to the Mediation Clinic, funded by Strathclyde's Alumni Fund.  The placements are aimed at those interested in working in family mediation and will last approximately 3 months. Cyrenians intend to offer further opportunities in future.
