Voices of Belonging
On 2 June 2025, Gillian Melville, Supervising Solicitor and Teaching Fellow at the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic, was interviewed for the University of East Anglia’s (UEA) ConnectED podcast series.
Hosted by Lauren Flannery, a Speech & Language Therapist at UEA, the ConnectED podcast explores issues within Higher Education through conversations and reflection.
Gillian took part in the ‘Voices of Belonging’ edition of the podcast, where a diverse group of students took the driver’s seat and hosted conversations with professionals from across the Higher Education sector. ‘Voices of Belonging’ was also part of the Student Belonging Conference hosted by UEA on 20 May 2025.
In the 2 June 2025 episode, Gillian chats to Speech and Language Therapy graduate Louise Salter. They discuss what it is about Strathclyde Law Clinic that builds a sense of community and keeps people invested in its continued development, as well as addressing possible barriers to students becoming involved, and what steps have been taken to overcome these.
