The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences this week welcomed our new intake of international students in traditional January style - with a Burns Supper.
Students from across the globe sampled Burns poetry and traditional Scots fare at the welcome event, which brought together academics and staff working at Schools across the Faculty.
Most in attendance are at the beginning of their time in Glasgow, having arrived to begin classes in the last ten days.
Dean Professor Ian Rivers offered students a warm welcome to the city and the University, offering an overview of Burns's life and significance before delivering a rendition of the Selkirk Grace.
After dining on haggis, neeps and tatties, students were put through their paces with Glaswegian 101 - a masterclass in some of the colourful colloqualisms they are likely to encounter during their time in the city.
And there was time for them to practice their new Scots, as proceedings came to a close with a 40-person joint rendition of all 228 lines of Tam O'Shanter.
