News Strathclyde welcomes delegation from Beijing Institute of Technology Zuhai

The University of Strathclyde has welcomed a delegation from Beijing Institute of Technology, Zuhai to discuss opportunities for partnership working.

The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences has worked with BITZ since 2018 on short professional development programmes for academic and administrative staff. This visit on the 27th October 2023 aimed at using this platform to further develop and enhance the current partnership.

Representatives from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Strathclyde Business School and the Faculty of Science met colleagues from BITZ's Office of International Affairs and its colleges. Discussions focused on collaboration in short programmes in the areas of teacher professional development and student cultural and language exchange.

The visit also included discussions on developing academic collaborations between BITZ and Strathclyde in the fields of accounting, finance, and computer science.

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences Prof. Ian Rivers spoke of his support for continued partnership with BITZ. He said: "Following the success of the short term programmes in 2018 and 2019 we can build on these activities in HaSS and widen the link to other Faculties’.
