Mary Kilborn Lecture - 30 April 2026

From Treatment to Transformation: Toward a Pedagogical Understanding of Person-Centred Therapy

The Mary Kilborn Lecture is an annual event hosted by the Counselling Unit of the University of Strathclyde. This year's lecture will be given by Dr David Murphy of the University of Nottingham. It will be followed by a wine reception.

The lecture will be of particular interest and relevance to practitioners of person-centred therapy and related modalities, including students, as well as anyone involved in using, funding, managing and evaluating counselling services who is curious to know more about person-centred therapy. We invite speakers who will challenge us with thought-provoking lectures. So come along expecting to hear new ideas or new ways of thinking about your existing ideas and enjoy the opportunity to meet with people who share your interest in or curiosity about person-centred therapy. For more information, visit our Eventbrite page.

This year's lecture takes place on Thursday 30 April in Room TL423 on the 4th floor of the Jocelyn Bell-Burnell Wing of the Learning and Teaching Building (49 Richmond Street, Glasgow, G1 1XU). Doors open at 6pm and the lecture will begin promptly at 6.30pm.

There is no charge to attend the Mary Kilborn Lecture. However, places are limited so it is essential that you secure a ticket in advance through our Eventbrite page. We look forward to seeing you there.
