Stakeholder Engagement
In developing this research programme, we consulted a wide range of professional stakeholders, including Police Scotland, the Scottish Prison Service, HMIPS, Public Health Scotland, people working on health and justice issues in the Scottish Government, people working on health and social issues at local government level, and public health professionals, as well as other researchers working at the health-justice intersection in Scotland and the wider UK.
Our goal is to drive meaningful changes that improve the health and wellbeing of those living in some of Scotland's most disadvantaged communities, while ensuring the experiences of people who have faced poverty and/or involvement with the justice system shape future policy plans. To help us achieve this, the programme is supported by both an International Research Advisory Board and an Impact Advisory Board.
Our International Research Advisory Board is chaired by Professor Peter Donnelly, who is based at St Andrews University.
Our Impact Advisory Board is chaired by Karyn McCluskey, Chief Executive, Community Justice Scotland.
