Jimuloja Village, on the East Bank of the Shire River in Chikhwawa District, is a small community located at the foothills of the Thyolo escarpment with thriving forests.

The community falls under the care the female Chief of Jimuloja and the health surveillance assistant Wineles Chatonera.

Essential Statistics:

  • Population of 218 people living in 58 households
  • 60% household coverage for latrines
  • Community is serviced by gravity fed taps located within the village with poor drainage.
  • Community is located just off the main East Bank Road at the base of the Thyolo escarpment.
  • Distance to the nearest health facility is less than 1km.
  • Committees represented in the community include: Village Development committee, Village Health Committee, Water Point Committee, RIDP programme which supports forestry development and the DAPP Women’s group.
