Kaputeni Village, on the East Bank of the Shire River in Chikhwawa District. A large community, Kaputeni is a trading centre and home to Mfera Primary school.

Kaputeni community (also known as Captain or Kaptein) falls under the care of Group Village Head Kaputeni and the health surveillance assistant is Medson Faela.
