Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration of books and reading. It will next take place across Scotland from 17 to 23 November 2025.
We mark Book Week Scotland with displays, events and giveaways in the Library.
Book Week Scotland 2025
Every year, to celebrate Book Week Scotland, Scottish Book Trust produces a free book, made up of true stories from people all over Scotland. The theme of this year's book is friendship.
We will have a limited number of free books to give away in the Library during Book Week Scotland.
Tell us your stories
This year, we will be gathering stories of friendships made at Strathclyde on an online Padlet and on our tree in the main entrance area of the Library. Look out for the tree beside our Book Week Scotland display to read others' stories of friendship, or write your own!
Relax with your friends
While in the Library you could try visiting the Nook with your pals. The Nook is a calm area where you can enjoy some screen-free time crafting, reading, or playing board games. We have jigsaw puzzles, quizzes, chess, Monopoly and more.
Book Week Scotland reading lists
Each year we compile a special reading list to suit the latest Book Week Scotland theme. Is there a book you enjoy that's missing from the list? Let us know! Leave a note on our Padlet or the tree in the Library.
