The University of Strathclyde uses an Eprints repository, called Strathprints, to archive all open access publications. This repository is connected to our internal CRIS system (Pure) and Archivematica for long-term preservation. To deposit outputs, authors should follow these instructions:
- Log in to Pure
- Click Add New in the task pane and select Research Output
- Under Create from Template, drill down until you locate the precise type of item you want to add.
- Enter all available information about the item in the editor window.
We encourage all authors to link their funding, datasets and add links to related Code and/or Software.
You may also wish to link associated research outputs, activities, etc. - Upload the document under the section ‘Add electronic version’.
- Mark the record as ‘For Validation’
- Click Save
Library staff will review and enhance the record metadata and check that the uploaded document is suitable for deposit. Once items have been checked and validated, documents will be sent to Strathprints automatically and made freely available after any embargo has expired. Items that are eligible for the Strathclyde Institutional Rights Retention Policy will be made available upon validation.
Staff aim to validate outputs within 7 working days. Please ensure that when updated publication profiles are required for promotion panels, notice of at least two weeks is provided to allow sufficient time for validation and checking.
University of Strathclyde authors should consult the internal SharePoint guidance for full documentation and training on using Pure. Any queries related to Pure profiles or technical support should be directed to pure@strath.ac.uk
