Graduation

All graduating students will receive an academic transcript free of charge. If you are attending one of the graduation ceremonies, details for collection will be given prior to your graduation.

If you are graduating in absentia, your transcript will be sent to the address you provided during the enrolment process along with your award parchment, once all of the graduation ceremonies have taken place.

Further information on receiving your physical transcript and degree certificate after graduation can be found on our graduation page.

If you need a PDF copy of your transcript prior to the graduation ceremony, please email; transcripts@strath.ac.uk, this can take up to four weeks due to anticipated volume of requests.

Please make sure you have enrolled to graduate and received notification of your award through Pegasus before making the request.

Please note turnaround times will be longer to accommodate the University closures.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

A transcript is an official document which is laid out in a standardised format and contains the following information:

  • Name and date of birth
  • University registration number
  • Programme title
  • Academic sessions you attended
  • Mode of attendance (full time/part time/distance learning)
  • All marks/grades achieved, along with Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credit (if available)
  • Class of degree or pass level (if relevant)
  • Award date and graduation date (if relevant)

We aim to produce transcripts as quickly as possible and within 10 working days.

However, at certain times of the year, particularly during the graduation period (June/July/November), this may take longer due to demand.

Postgraduate transcripts, particularly those relating to the Strathclyde Business School, and transcripts relating to attendance prior to 1984 are manually produced and therefore can take considerably longer. Please allow 20 working days before contacting us for an update.

Please note the following UK mail delivery information:

  • Transcripts to UK addresses are sent by Royal Mail standard delivery and usually arrive within 5 working days.
  • Transcripts sent to non-UK addresses by Royal Mail can take considerably longer, we recommend allowing 20 working days for delivery. We are unable to provide tracking information for these deliveries.
  • For an additional fee of £15, you can choose to have your transcript sent by courier (DHL). This service can be purchased via the Online Shop. If you choose this option, you will receive tracking information.

Please note that we will not courier post to a PO box address unless necessary (i.e. if this is your only address).

If you require additional documentation to be sent along with your transcripts, please do the following:

  • order your transcript from the Online Shop
  • once your order confirmation has been received, send us the other documentation that you need included to transcripts@strath.ac.uk
  • please make sure that you do both on the same day and remember to quote your order number in all email correspondence

If you require other University documents to be sent with your transcript e.g. replacement degree certificate, degree verification letter etc, please specify this in your correspondence. Certificates, letters, and transcript requests are not processed at the same time or by the same member of staff so will be sent separately unless advised.

If you require your transcripts to be signed and sealed in separate envelopes please confirm this by email; transcripts@strath.ac.uk, make sure you include your order number(s).

If you want us to send your official transcript(s) to WES (World Education Services), please note that we are required to send these with a copy of the standard WES form. We do not use Digitary or Gradintel services.

An academic transcript is an official document and details your entire student record at the University of Strathclyde and we cannot omit or censor any information.

If you require specific information added, such as an application number for another institution, please indicate this on the “additional information” section of the form.

An interim transcript is one issued before your programme of study has been completed. This will not include unapproved marks or your final award

If you require an official transcript, we recommend that this is purchased after all of your marks have been approved.

All graduating students will receive an academic transcript free of charge.

You will not automatically receive a transcript if you are on a non-graduating course or if you withdraw early from your programme with no formal award.

No, but it does help us to process your order faster.

Yes, you will need to make a separate request for each award and the same charge will apply to each request.

Prior to 2007 there were no individual values, numerical marks or credit values and it is therefore not possible to produce a transcript. You may however request a degree verification letter by emailing verification@strath.ac.uk, there is no charge for this letter. If you have undertaken a compulsory instructional element to achieve your degree then a transcript can be produced.

Yes, if you have formally withdrawn from the University and your student record shows this then you can request a transcript which will show the examination results and credits up to that date.

Please contact your department if you believe anything on your transcript is incorrect.

If it has been over 15 working days (UK addresses) or 30 working days (non-UK addresses) since you placed your order please email transcripts@strath.ac.uk with your full name, student number and your order number from the Online Shop.

Please do not email us until these timescales have elapsed.
