On 27 August 2016, BeneLex organised a workshop Marine Genetic Resources in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction, at New York University Law School, in collaboration with IUCN and PHARMASEA. It explored how an implementing agreement on the governance of marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction may foster equitable and effective research and development and sustainable use of marine genetic resources in developing and developed countries.
