SCELG at the 2022 IUCN Oslo International Environmental Law Conference
Taking a break from his secondment at the Scottish Government where he leads the Government’s Carbon Neutral Islands project, Prof Francesco Sindico represented the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance at the 2022 International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Oslo International Environmental Law Conference organised by the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL). He chaired the parallel session “Transformative legal tool to address climate change (part I)” on Monday 3 October 2022 and contributed to the plenary session “How to Address Climate Change, Pollution and Biodiversity Loss?” on Wednesday 5 October 2022. Francesco also participated to a meeting of all IUCN WCEL Specialist Groups in his capacity of Co-Chair of the Climate Change Law Specialist Group. The latter has 420 members and on Tuesday Francesco convened an in person meeting that brought together 35 members present in Oslo.
