Centre for Molecular Nanometrology
The Centre for Molecular Nanometrology is a collaboration between:
- Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry
- Department of Physics
- associated interdisciplinary groupings from across the Faculty of Science.
Nanometrology refers to the measurement of events on a nanoscale using novel physical techniques and chemical manipulations.
It's part of the nanotechnology area that isn't well established and is on the rise.
We can advance the little explored and difficult field of measuring nm distances/structures in situ, which lies at the heart of molecular biology and medicine.
We're the first centre of excellence in this area within the Scottish research community.
