The monthly Hacky Hour is organised by RSE community at the University of Strathclyde in collaboration with the University of Glasgow.
We run these software engineering clinics for the local community of researchers, on the first Wednesday of every month 2-3PM on Zoom and in person to get the reminder with login/meeting room details join our mailing list.
These informal "Hacky Hours" are here to help with programming problems and related issues (testing, documentation, maintainability, reproducibility). We have experts in programming languages, command-line shells, collaborative tools, LaTeX, a number of scientific fields, and can help you improve the quality, reliability, and reusability of your research software.
The clinics are open to PhD students, postdocs, PIs, and anyone who is directly involved in writing software for research. Just drop in with your questions.
Note that this is not a teaching event or a support group for problems with software that you are not involved in developing.
In between Hacky Hours, you can reach us by email, on Discord (email for invite), and on Mastodon.
