Profile

Having a degree in Statistics (BSc honours 2.1) and MSc taught degree in Bio-statistics in 2007 from Tehran University of Medical Science, I went to complete my MSc by research studying on ‘Modelling and predicting patient recruitment in multi-centre clinical trials’ in the University of Glasgow in 2011.

In my current PhD study, which is funded by the University of Strathclyde and MASTS, I work within the marine population modelling group in Strathclyde. I am developing a new length-based model in fisheries population dynamics using survey data from International bottom Trawl Survey (IBTS) and total landed biomass from commercial landings. This model (survey-landings model) enables very poor sampled species, for which there is no data about the length distribution of catch available, to be assessed.

Some issues in predicting patient recruitment in multi-centre clinical trials.
