Dr Emad Chaparian

Personal statement

Emad Chaparian received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. He then joined FLOW centre, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden as a postdoctoral fellow where he worked on multiphase flows in complex fluids. His studies were supported by Swedish Research Council and European Research Council. After that, he worked two years as a research & teaching fellow in the Mathematics Department, again at UBC, before joining University of Strathclyde in 2022. His research focuses on complex fluids and rheology, multiphase flows and porous media, both theoretically and computationally.
