Personal statement

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and Chancellor’s Fellow in the Department of Government and Public Policy at the University of Strathclyde. My research focuses on the international political economy of finance and development. I am particularly interested in sovereign debt, financial markets, capital flows, aid flows, loan conditionality, government transparency, economic development, and international organizations. My book How Governments Borrow, on the politics of government borrowing decisions in developing countries, is with Oxford University Press. Related work is published in British Journal of Political Science, Governance, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Politics, Review of International Organizations, and other outlets. See my CV or website for more.
