Personal statement

I'm a Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. My research combines hardware and software development to create novel innovations for image-based defect detection for concrete and steel.

Teaching

CL140: Structural Mechanics & Materials I. This first-year class covers an introduction to structural mechanics and structural design principles. The class is taught in person to students at a Strathclyde partner university in China.

CL246: Structural Mechanics & Materials II. This second-year class introduces students to advanced topics in structural mechanics and structural design principles. The class is taught in person to students at a Strathclyde partner university in China.

CL329/CL323: Introduction to Computer Programming. This third-year class introduces Python and programming to students. I was the lecturer for the course in semester 2 of the 22/23 academic year under the supervision of Dr John Douglas.

ALICS NII Trials final costed for Bruce Power

This project will deploy the Adaptive Lighting for the Inspection of Concrete Structures (ALICS) system at various sites in Bruce County, Canada. The results will then be showcased at a technical demonstration. The project is funded by the Canadian Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII)

ALICS Trials on PT Bridge - Structures Moonshot

This project deployed the Adaptive Lighting for the Inspection of Concrete Structures (ALICS) system at a National Highways site as part of the "Structures Moonshot ". The work was carried out in partnership with inspectors from Henderson Thomas Associates (HTA).

This project deployed the Adaptive Lighting for the Inspection of Concrete Structures (ALICS) system at HSE's Science and Research Centre, Buxton. The ALICS system was used to inspect a concrete test wall with known defects.
