Personal statement

Val Ferro read Biochemistry at the University of Aberdeen (BSc Hons 1985) and carried out postgraduate research into Tumour Biology at the University of St. Andrews. (PhD, 1989). She moved to the University of Strathclyde in 1989 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, managing commercially-funded projects on vaccine development. She became a lecturer in 2006 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2018.

Research Interests

Current research interests within Dr Ferro's group focuses on three main areas: development of non-invasive human and veterinary vaccines, development of anti-fertility vaccines and natural product research.
