Personal statement

After qualifying from the University of Strathclyde in 2009, Ross worked within a Youth Justice social work team at Glasgow City Council before moving to CYCJ 2017. His work here focuses on Diversion from Prosecution, improving the implementation of the Whole System Approach, and roll-out of the Children (Care and Justice) Scotland Act. and helping CYCJ and partners to achieve the ambitions set out in The Promise. Ross delivers lectures across the social work courses here at the university, primarily focussing on risk practice, youth justice and similar subjects. Ross is also slowly undertaking a part time PhD at the University of Strathclyde, looking at the life experiences of children who are placed within secure care.
