Personal statement

After qualifying from the University of Strathclyde in 2009, Ross worked within a Youth Justice area team at Glasgow City Council before moving to CYCJ 2017. His work here focuses on Diversion from Prosecution, Participation and Children’s Rights, and reforming existing service provision. He is currently involved in a number of strands of work including; supporting the Youth Justice Voices project and participation more widely, including within the National Leadership Network and our partnership with Dumfries and Galloway council. Other areas of work include considering and delivering the content of the Children’s Care and Justice Bill, and helping CYCJ and partners to achieve the ambitions set out in The Promise. Ross is also slowly undertaking a part time PhD at the University of Strathclyde, looking at the life experiences of children who are placed within secure care.
