Personal statement

Maria is a driven PhD student at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship in Strathclyde Business School, where she conducts research on migrant entrepreneurship in the hospitality and tourism industry. She completed her MRes in Research Methodology in Business and Management at the University of Strathclyde and also holds a First Class BA (Hons) in International Business with Business Enterprise from Strathclyde. Maria's interests extend to SMEs, family businesses, start-ups, and internationalisation.

Research Interests

I am interested in migrant entrepreneurship, particularly in the Scottish hospitality and tourism sector. My focus is on understanding the motivations, strategies and contextualised experiences of migrant entrepreneurs.
