- Cantwell, Paul (Principal Investigator) Karkasinas, Aineias (Co-investigator)
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for HUID Ltd.
The project was set to establish the environmental impact baseline for the onion-based film packaging.
The goal was to gather data for a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of HUID’s onion-based packaging material, identifying database knowledge gaps for their supply chain and manufacturing processes - 03-Jan-2025 - 15-Jan-2025
- NMIS-CATX 06291 Measuring the impact of near net shape manufacturing processing on CO2 emissions
- Bucconi, Marco (Principal Investigator) Karkasinas, Aineias (Principal Investigator) Parameswaran, Elangovan (Co-investigator) Liu, Jun (Co-investigator)
- Assessment of the impact of two near net shape manufacturing processes in the production of CO2 emissions for a demonstrator part.
- 20-Jan-2022 - 31-Jan-2023
- AFRC-CRAD-05929 - ACS Clothing Achieving Net Zero-Route to Impact
- Karkasinas, Aineias (Principal Investigator)
- The project involved gathering data on business processes, materials, and activities to quantify environmental impacts. We allocated emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 following the GHG Protocol. Two reduction strategies were devised: one for 2022 (a transitional phase) and a more aggressive approach for 2023 aimed at achieving a 90% reduction in emissions from the 2019 baseline.
The project successfully illustrated the potential to cut ACS Clothing's emissions by 90%, meeting the 2023 Net Zero target. This outcome not only decreased environmental impacts but also increased company value, making ACS more attractive to ethical investors. - 01-Jan-2022 - 30-Jan-2022
