Personal statement

Robert Lawrie leads the Faculty of Science Office team and provides strategic support to the Faculty Executive. In this role, he offers high-level advice to the Executive Dean on Faculty strategy, planning, and resource management, and oversees governance across the Faculty. Robert also manages the interface between the Faculty’s Professional Services and the University’s central Professional Services Directorates, representing the Faculty at senior levels within the University. Robert joined the University of Strathclyde in June 2018 as Department Manager for Mathematics and Statistics, where he provided leadership, management, and strategic direction across all operational activities. Before joining Strathclyde, Robert spent 15 years at the University of Edinburgh, serving as Director of Scholarships and Student Funding, and later as Director of Student Administrative Services. Earlier in his career, he held roles at University College London and Goldsmiths, University of London.
