International Language Pedagogy, Cultural Awareness, and Chinese Education in Scotland

I have led significant advancements in the field of international language education, with a particular focus on Chinese language pedagogy and the promotion of intercultural understanding. My work has consistently championed inclusive, high-quality language learning experiences across a range of educational contexts, from schools to higher education and community settings.

As a recognised authority on the management of Confucius Institutes, I have played a pivotal role in shaping their strategic direction within Scotland and the wider UK. I have overseen programmes that not only deliver excellence in language education but also promote deep cultural engagement and sustained partnerships between Chinese and Scottish institutions.

One of my key achievements has been the successful development and national implementation of formal Scottish qualifications in Chinese languages. I have worked closely with education authorities, policymakers, and curriculum bodies to ensure that Chinese language learning is recognised and embedded within the Scottish Qualifications Framework.
