Personal statement

I am a Research Associate in the Department of Government & Public Policy, which I joined in August 2025, and I currently work on the ParliView project. Previously, I was a Research Associate at the University of Manchester and Co-Lead Investigator (UK) with Dr Rosalind Shorrocks on the Horizon Europe–funded project UNTWIST: Policy Recommendations to Regain the “Losers of Feminism” as Mainstream Voters. I was awarded a PhD in Media, Culture and Heritage from Newcastle University in 2024. My research focuses on gender and representation, political communication, and party politics, primarily using computational text analysis methods. I have published research that explores how gender and sexuality issues are mobilised and communicated by political actors and how gender issues and women politicians are represented in the media.
