Projects

ABE Device Design (Framework Agreement sHYp)
MacDonald, Lewis (Researcher) Roy, Sudipta (Principal Investigator)
The Acid Base Electrolyser (ABE) device was studied with the aim to increase the current density and pH split achievable in comparison to the SPARK2066 project. results. This was tackled by changing the design and flow configuration
20-Jan-2022 - 31-Jan-2022
SPARK 2066 - Membraneless Electrolyzer System for Direct Ocean CO 2 Capture
MacDonald, Lewis (Researcher) Roy, Sudipta (Principal Investigator) Brightman, Edward (Academic) Li, Jun (Academic) Morrison, Jennie (Researcher)
To use a membraneless electrolyser to produce both acid and base streams from a saltwater feed source which can be used in industrial processes. The acid stream will be used to release CO2 from seawater while the base stream will be used to precipitate Mg(OH)2 from sea water. Overall this will decarbonate and sterilise seawater that can then be returned to the ocean
