Personal statement
Stuart McIntyre is a Professor in the Department of Economics.
He is a Fellow of the Office for National Statistics, a Research Associate at the ONS-funded Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence, and a Faculty Research Affiliate at the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University.
He is also a Lead Editor of the ESRC-funded Economics Observatory (https://www.economicsobservatory.com/) which bridges the gap between academic research, government policy and the general public.
Stuart has research interests in applied economics, regional economics and public policy.
He is very willing to supervise suitably qualified PhD students in his fields of interest. Applicants should email their CV and research proposal in the first instance.
Stuart currently teaches on the MRes (Introduction to Quantitative Methods), MBA (Scenario Thinking for Global Challenges), MSc Applied Economics (Regional Development Policy) and Undergraduate Economics (Intermediate Microeconomics) programmes.
