Personal statement

I am the Executive Director of the Scottish Research Partnership in Energy and Engineering Research and Innovation (SPEERI). SPEERI is the strategic integration of Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering (SRPe) with the Energy Technology Partnership (ETP), and comprises 14 Scottish Universities working collaboratively with industry, public sector and government to maximise impact in energy and engineering research and innovation. Through a focused approach, SPEERI raises the profile of Scottish energy and engineering research, adding value for SPEERI’s Scottish University Partners and bringing the benefits of innovation to external stakeholders in industry, public sector and wider society. I have previously worked extensively in both academia and industry, with roles at CMAC, SIPBS and CPACT at the University at Strathclyde, and the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at Heriot Watt University, as well as in industry at Avecia, ProPharma, Evotec, Aptuit and Bio Images Drug Delivery.
